About me

Jonathan Wilson is a photojournalist working primarily in the greater Philadelphia area.

After graduating from Tyler School of Art in 1971 with a BFA, he spent a decade shooting college and high school sports. He joined the Philadelphia Inquirer in 1987, initially as a contract photographer and subsequently as a staff member.

At the Inquirer, Wilson’s assignments varied widely, ranging from food features to the terrorist attacks of September 11th. Much of his work addressed environmental issues. His projects included the long-term legacies of the nuclear accident at Three Mile Island, the Exxon Valdez oil spill, and the rise of invasive fish species in the Gulf Stream.

Currently, he continues contributing to the Inquirer and NPR station WHYY, while working on personal projects.
